Site: Family home in North York, Ontario.
Through the performing of archival research and of personal history, I consider the conditions that informed the identifications of self, family, and suburban Canadian existence growing up in the 70s and 80s.
A fear of losing the details explores links between authority and choreography. The performance lecture looks at how a memory is awakened by an object, how a trace can draw unexpected and joyful connections between things, and how my childhood home holds, within its walls, the brutal injustices of the colonial legacy.

The project urgently looks back in order to understand how to act and create in the future, and how to contribute to a critical non-indigenous perspective. The intervention is aligned with broader research questions addressing what role non-indigenous artists have to support in a reconciliation process.
