Elapse I & II
artist book documentation
The performance-choreographic project Elapse I & II was a duplicate birthday party event (for my 30th birthday) held in my studio in Montreal. Guests/participants were invited to join me for wine, sushi, and cake on the condition they return the following day and attempt to re-enact what they said, did, ate, drank the day before. Guests were asked to enter and exit the event at the same time on both days.
Elapse I & II documented as an artist book was launched at Art Metropole (https://artmetropole.com/events/book-launch-for-kg-guttmans-elapse-i-ii) in Toronto and Galerie LaCentrale (www.lacentrale.org/) in Montreal. The book was purchased for the permanent collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal and by the Library of the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, and part of the Collection patrimoniale: Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.
